The defining feature of the Organivore™ compared to other organic waste digesters is that, rather than producing grey wastewater high in contaminant parameters such as biological oxygen demand (BOD) and total suspended solids (TSS), water released from the Organivore™ is clean enough to be recycled back into the treatment process or used for irrigation and cleaning. Alternatively, the water can be released into sewer systems with no pollution charges.
Moving toward clean, green practices can be a challenge. The Organivore™ is an excellent candidate for companies operating within food industry sectors looking for environmentally responsible waste processing.
The on-site waste management concept of the Organivore™ reduces the need for conventional practices such as trucking, landfilling, and incineration.
Key Features
Micron’s technology turns organic waste into clean water and compact biosolids using a proprietary 3-step process.
The clean water generated in this process can be recycled or reused. Unlike other food waste systems, our technology can be a closed-loop system where effluent released from the food digester is processed by our bioprocess. The effluent parameters such as Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Fats/Oils/Grease (FOG), colour, and odour are reduced so that the water becomes clean, meeting the guidelines set out in municipal wastewater bylaws.
